The Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) is the only higher education institution for fine arts in China directly overseen by the Ministry of Education. Currently, CAFA employs around 1,000 faculty and staff members and educates over 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students from across China, along with approximately 200 international students from various countries. CAFA is dedicated to establishing a modern educational structure for the fine arts, where disciplines like visual arts, design, architecture, and the humanities intersect and enrich one another. The academy aims to lead the development of an art education system with distinct Chinese characteristics, striving for international recognition through its high-quality teaching and research. Today, CAFA is a prominent institution in China’s higher education landscape for the arts and holds a significant place among world-class fine arts schools.
