Study for a master’s degree

A master’s degree at a university of applied sciences is professionally oriented and helps you broaden your perspective as a professional. You will deepen your knowledge, learn how to tackle complex issues and look beyond the boundaries of your own field. Throughout the programme, you will work on current real-world challenges. You will combine academic insights with applied research and learn how to develop evidence-based solutions that make a genuine difference.

When studying for a professional master’s degree, you will not be working alone. You will be part of a learning team in which you share experiences and learn from one another. You will also receive guidance from lecturers with professional experience in the field. On successful completion, you will be awarded a master’s degree at the same academic level as a university master’s degree, with a title such as MSc, LLM or MA.

Full-time or part-time

Windesheim offers both full-time and part-time master’s programmes. Each programme has its own entry requirements. For many part-time master’s programmes, for example, you will need at least a bachelor’s degree from a university of applied sciences or a research university, as well as a relevant workplace. Relevant work experience is also preferred. You can enrol on a full-time master’s programme immediately after completing your bachelor’s degree; no pre-master’s programme is required.

Our master’s programmes are closely connected to the applied research conducted by our research groups. This means that the programme content is directly aligned with current developments in professional practice and with long-term research programmes.

2026 National Student Survey: Windesheim once again has the most satisfied students

Among all broad-based universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands, Windesheim University of Applied Sciences once again has the most satisfied students, just as it did last year. This is shown by the results of the 2026 Dutch National Student Survey, conducted by the National Centre for Study Choice.
