SORT Ambulance Amsterdam

The SORT (Special Operations Response Team) is part of Ambulance Amsterdam. The team consists of 44 ambulance staff, 22 ambulance drivers and 22 ambulance nurses. Working on the ambulance every day, and having the SORT as a secondary task. The SORT is deployed in the GGB structure, events and at TGB/GEG (counterterrorism/consequential violence/coarse and extreme violence). The team is tactically trained and ballistically protected to carry out work in the warm zone. They do this together with DSI and QRT-B. This multi-action empowers each discipline, each with its own specialism. The SORT is the only team that is well trained, equipped and operational, making it unique in the Netherlands.
