Zhejiang Institute Of Mechanical And Electrical Engineering

Zhejiang Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (ZIME) was founded in 1952 and became one of the first batch of high vocational colleges in Zhejiang Province in 2002. It is a full-time public institution dedicated primarily to nurturing high-quality technical and skilled talents in the field of electromechanical engineering. The institute is among the 53 institutions selected by the Ministry of Education for the "National High-Level Skilled Talent Training Program," and it holds the status of a national demonstrative higher vocational college. Moreover, it is recognized as an "A-Grade" institution in China's specialized high-level vocational education.

The institute is situated across two campuses in Binjiang and Haining, covering an area of 950 acres with a total building area of 327,000 square meters. It currently enrolls over 11,000 full-time students and employs more than 800 staff members, including over 500 full-time faculty members.

ZIME is committed to serving advanced manufacturing industries and offers 29 majors, including Mechanical Manufacturing Equipment Technology, Electromechanical Integration Technology, Intelligent Control Technology, Urban Rail Transit Electromechanical Technology, Internet of Things Application Technology, and Virtual Reality Technology Application. Among these, two are classified as high-level specialty groups with Chinese characteristics, six are part of national demonstrative school construction projects, two are exemplar majors in equipment manufacturing designated by the Ministry of Education, seven are identified as advantageous majors in Zhejiang Province's "13th Five-Year Plan" for higher education institutions, and five are distinctive majors.
